I wonder if any readers might have experience the same problem that I did, and if you have already found a solution. I was using Thunderbird and had installed the Lightning add-on. It was happily working, interfacing with Google Calendar. I was happy as a clam at high tide. I am on a 64 bit machine with 64 bit Thunderbird running Mandriva 2010.2

Then, the other day (Thursday, I think), there was an upgrade to Thunderbird 3.1.9, and all of the Lightning functionality disappeared.

I uninstalled from the package manager, then reinstalled. The installation showed no errors, but there are no calendar options/menus/screens.

I searched online, and found a few references. The all took me to download one of two files:

lightning-1.0b2-tb-linux.xpi
or
lightning.xpi

Both of these throw errors when I try to install them. the lightning.xpi says that it is not compatible with Thunderbird 3.1.9. The 1.02b2 says it is not compatible with your Thunderbird build type (Linux_x86_64-gcc3).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Thunderbird
2. No lightning to be found
3. ?????
Actual Results:
No lightning

Expected Results:
Lightning
If you were using a Mandriva specific Lightning package and if this package stopped working you should contact the Mandriva package owner/creator.

But if you want to use the official Mozilla package for 64-bit Thunderbird you need to use a 64-bit Lightning package. You can find one at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/lightning1.0b2.html#linux-x86-64-builds
