User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 This problem continues with version 4. You open a link in a new tab and suddenly you are help captive. You try and close the tab and get a pop-up windows asking you to confirm you wish to leave.... even when you have pop-ups turned off. I am never sure if it is ok to close. Other times, the new tab takes over and you cannot close until you let the process complete. When I click on the "X" in the tab I want an immediate close of all processes. No pop-ups, no waiting for the processes to finish and not a complete close of the system. I want to kill it now! Surely this is possible...... BTW, I am frozen now as I type this. Well actually, not frozen, just clicking on the "submit feedback" button does not work. Reproducible: Always

Could you see if the issue occurs if using Firefox in safe mode: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it) http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile Also, bugzilla is intended for developers rather than end user support. For support, the best place to go is: http://support.mozilla.com/
