Once the patch for bug 465086 lands, it will be more likely that users close many tabs in quick succession using the mouse.

I think it makes sense to reduce the duration of these animations slightly, e.g. from 250 milliseconds to 200 milliseconds, to appear more responsive.

It also effectively eliminates the case that a user tries to close two tabs quickly but has to wait until the other tab finishes sliding or expanding.

Is this bug really INVALID?

Is there an open bug for reducing the duration of the tab opening animation slightly, to appear faster and more responsive? I think that's still a very valid request which should be considered carefully by the UX people.
Hi Frank,

Please comment so people know why you resolved this as invalid

Jesper, I opened this bug myself, and now I'm closing it, because it's no longer useful for tracking, as the efforts to improve the tabbed browsing implementation have largely been folded into the Australis project.
The work-in-progress code for Australis already reduces the duration of animations and will hopefully land soon:

You might have opened the bug yourself, but 13 CC'd people are left clueless.

Thanks for filling us in.
