3. Mozilla tries to display it instead of download dialog.

The server returns a mime type of text/plain for the platinum and gold .exe files. 
displaying text/plain is correct

How does IE do it?
ie gives more priority to the file extension, and possibly its sniffer. this 
violates the specification.
So why we cannot do the same way?
mozilla's goal is to conform to w3c specifications and stuff like that. the 
spec says to follow the mime type which we do.
