seen on Linux commercial build 2001-01-29-06

- open a composer window
-type in kanji
-then attempt to type space

expected result:  a space is entered
tested results: word highlights and then cycles through choices fro each press 
of space bar

Note: work around is to hit enter after word then type a "space"

This is the right behavior for Win IME (space to convert Kana to Kanji).
I don't know about Linux IME.

so...to compose a complete letter in japanese one must hit "enter" "space" 
between every word???

Tracy, to enter a real space, you do need to hit Enter to commit the selected 
Japanese character into the editing area. And 
while you press space bar to get the next selection of the candidate, 
the Japanese character should be always highlighted before you hit Enter to commit.
The problem I saw on your machine is that after you press space bar several times, 
the Japanese character is not highlighted anymore.

On my RH6.2-J, I can have the candidate selection window when I press space bar, 
I don't have the problem. Since we don't officially support RH6.0, I think it's a
bug with very low priority.

Well, that sounds like Linux IME problem. I do not have this problem on 
HPUX either. I will close the bug as WONTFIX.

On my LinuxRH6.2-ja, I couldn't see the not highlighted problem, I mark 
it as verified according it might because Linux IME problem.
