Prior to bug 667492, tinderbox-stage looked from the outside like it was fairly happy. The update in that bug choked, because instead of having a directory /var/www/webtools/tinderbox/data/bad/ into which it could throw bad mail that has tinderbox headers but not enough or the right ones, it had a file named bad, which stopped the Makefile in its tracks. Apparently moving that file and rerunning make went fine.

Now, http://tinderbox-stage.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=Firefox is broken, only displaying the very tip of the latest job, with the HTML just ending in the middle.

I'd be willing to believe that it was the fault of my patch, even though it seems unlikely since both static and dynamic are broken, and static pages that are created after index.html appear fine, while it's created before anything I touched, but since tinderbox-stage was apparently in a rather broken state before I got there, I'm also willing to believe it's not my fault.

Is this still valid?
Fun question. Exactly what was true then remains true now, the only thing that has changed is that we're no longer sending email to tinderbox-stage.

So if we believe that someone will ever again use tinderbox-stage, we either need to fix this or decide to dump this in their lap along with having to restart sending mail to it. If we believe nobody will ever again use it, then we could morph this or dupe it to a "turn off and delete tinderbox-stage" bug.
tinderbox-stage is out of sync, yes - do we need to fix it? IMO no as that is up to the people working on tbpl

I would suggest this be flagged as WONTFIX
I suggest we leave this in stasis for the moment, we'll fix it as part of the deploy next time there's actually something to be tested on it. We can take it down along with the production tinderbox once it's time to discontinue that.

FWIW, this is exactly what happened once bug 667266 (and some later changes) were deployed to production in bug 728331, causing bug 728510 ;-)
