Alex: does this seem to affect addon functionality, or is it just a minor annoyance to see all these messages in the console?

It is only an annoyance that can heavily pollute the console. It end up being fixed as a review comment in this landing: https://github.com/mozilla/addon-sdk/commit/d312a1ecf63a6ef64535e0aa161a078a191bf860#L1L453
