When you select a folder the focus seems to go to the message pane. At least the selected folder goes from selected to marked. Dark gray -> light gray. But this should only be done if the folder isn't empty.

reassigning to ssu. I agree that selecting a folder shouldn't take focus out of the folder pane. This may get taken care of with the other bugs Sean is working on.

fixed by patch in bug 70097. focus no longer goes to the message pane regardless if the folder is empty or not.
