Details

(Whiteboard: [testday-20111021])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Build ID: 20110816154714

Steps to reproduce:

1) Find a link which points to a PDF document.
2) Right click and choose "Open Link in New Tab" (or "middle click" it)
3) The PDF document is opened in a new tab (Switching to new tabs is disabled!)

Actual results:

Current tab froze. Switching tab (to any available one that is open) and switching back makes the tab responsive again.

Expected results:

It shouldn't freeze.

Add-ons Manager says: Adobe Acrobat 10.1.1.33

Additional notes:
* The page freezes in terms of scrolling using the mouse (as if "focus" has been lost) however clicking on whitespace and trying to scroll doesn't help.
* I am still able to click links (which will follow the link)
* I am able to right click, but unless I perform an action it is still froozen if I left click in whitespace again (I.e. "aborting" the right click menu)
* If I drag a link into white space (which does nothing except for showing the "Not Allowed" cursor") unlocks the page.
* I can scroll manually but this does not unlock the mouse scroll.
* I can still highlight text etc but if highlight and copy the text the page unlocks and I can mouse scroll again.
* If I configure (under Options->Options->Adobe Acrobat Document) it to open the external viewer (I.e. Not in a Firefox tab) it is fine.

Due to this I'm changing the bug to a more appropriate title (I.e. that the mouse scroll locks and not the page per se), will also lower the severity to low.

Summary: Current tab freeze when opening a (link to) a PDF document in a new tab. → Mouse scroll (wheel scroll) freeze in current tab when opening a (link to) a PDF document in a new tab.
It captures all keyboard input and most mouse input and sends it to the PDF (Adobe plugin doesn't recognize that the focus is not on the newly opened PDF tab).
Also affected (both are x86 Windows 7 Enterprise):

This sounds like bug 626813 to me.
It sounds like it is similar but I'm not sure. This only happens to me when I open a PDF in a new tab (without focus going to the new tab) and the PDF finishes loading... THEN my page scrollfreezes.

I can confirm what @Drew said: mousewheel, touchpad and keyboard ALL freeze (including e.g. hitting Ctrl+F to search on the page)

However I can still scroll on the page after I have changed focus on the tab and back again which makes be believe this is different since other bugs mention that they can't scroll period.
Flash is the only plugin now, so this is no longer relevant.
