Build ID: 20110811165603

Steps to reproduce:

I used "Save Link As..." to save each homework assignment linked to from http://www.phy-astr.gsu.edu/dietz/TEACHING/Phys4700_EM/Phys4700_Assign.html (on August 29, 2011)

Actual results:

The first three worked as expected, assignments 4 through 10 saved the (HTML) bodies of the 404 results with the basename (.pdf) of the link.

Expected results:

Firefox should have warned me when the 404 was received that the saved file was likely not what I was expecting, preferably giving me the option to cancel the download or view the result in-browser before saving.
Something similar is mentioned in bug 174167 comment 10.
Yes, it is similar, however it is only a suggestion in a comment and not the whole bug. It is not sure if that will be respected and implemented. So, that bug might fix this bug or not.

Yeah, we should do something about this. Perhaps show an in-page dialog that says "The file you requested was not found."
