Fine so far. When I now click one time on such a message line (but do NOT open the message in a window/new tab - just click once on it) then the boldface turns into "normal" font. Again: This happens although the message is NOT opened by an explicit double click. The corresponding option (Advanced->Reading & Display) offers only a time depending recognition when a message is read (e.g. after 5 seconds). But it does NOT offer an option: "Mark as read if message is opened in new tab by double click". Could you include this option in next release? Actual results: see above Expected results: message line should stay in bold as long as it is NOT opened by double click (easy to implement)

Hello.
I wanted to share a valuable feature that greatly contributes to keeping things organized within the MS Outlook Application.
Given the exceptional work done by the Thunderbird development team in creating Supernova (I am part of the beta testing), I propose incorporating a similar option.
To save time for the DEV team, let me explain how this feature operates in Outlook: when you view a message in the preview pane, there is an option to automatically mark it as read. However, if you disable this setting, Outlook will only mark the message as read when you explicitly open it by double-clicking.
Considering the functional differences between Thunderbird and Outlook, I suggest adding a third radio button in the "Reading & Display" section, labeled "when the message is opened," positioned below the existing "after displaying for X seconds" option.
I kindly request you to consider implementing this suggestion. It would greatly enhance the user experience.
