As we are promoting the back-to-school campaign in some print media, we need a shorter URL to re-direct to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/backtoschool/

Can we have mozilla.org/backtoschool? or should it be firefox.com/backtoschool.

After some consult with cbrodigan, I'd like to go with

mozilla.org/backtoschool 

Also, we're going to have the print ads in the wild by Sept 18. So it would be ideal if this were in place before then :)

Is it ok if we just move completely from /firefox/backtoschool/ to /backtoschool/ or is the /firefox/backtoschool/ URL already in use?

I don't want to move the current URL as there are AdWords pointing directly at the http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/backtoschool/ URL.

We just need a re-direct from a shorter URL (http://www.mozilla.org/backtoschool - which is currently a 404 for me)

Am I understanding your question correctly?

I'll get this in place today - the bug was assigned to James, so it wasn't on my to-do list. Doesn't take long though.

FYI: The fliers with the mozilla.org/backtoschool link are being passed out around schools this week. There's currently a 404 error for the link.

http://www.mozilla.org/backtoschool  redirects to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/backtoschool which is a 404 re-opening
