Steps to reproduce:

typed ctrl+f to get the search box.


Actual results:

once i reach the 'w' letter when typing the word 'bandwidth' the search box clears /and i get 'idth' only/
Note: I do have flash running. as suggested by another bug report (that was not validated) flash being running might be related.


Expected results:

the search box should not have cleared.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

Does this happen on a specific site?
