I keep my Fx window maximized all the time (Win 7).

Sometimes I accidentially restore the window (make it smaller and drag-able). It sometimes happens also after restart or return from full screen (but that is another bug).

When I maximize the window back again, layout of my nicely ordered groups is completely messed up... It really makes me crazy and ruins the overview of my work organization. It is pretty complicated to return to the original state manually again.

I would expect the layout to return to the previous state or at least state close to what I had before when I maximize back.

To note - I have some 20 groups, ordered as small squares in columns, aligned to all top, bottom, left and right of the screen.
Really painful when happens. I often order groups also by priority across the whole screen, so my work plans are getting lost with accidental resize of the window.

This can also be pain for people that switch between monitors with different resolution.

Are there any plans on changing the way how panorama's layout is changing with resize of the window? Should I propose some?

This is definitely something we need to solve. It's related to bug 601534. We'll probably want to store group dimensions and positions not absolute but relative (in percent of the screen width and height for example).

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs.

If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality.

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info.

We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
