Build ID: 20110912030829

Steps to reproduce:

Reply with original quoted text & a default blue font color, size & type.

Actual results:

Quoted text turns blue too.

Expected results:

I want to use a default color for mail composition,
but don't want original messages colors to be changed
to my default composition color or font size or even type.
tb should respect original messages (senders) own color codes
& shouldn't overwrite them.
My default blue color is for the html composition .. .
Tb seems to respect original messages color codes during replies (quoted),
the issue is that if i reply to a text based "that should remain black"
message, it shouldn't turn blue because i want to "always" reply in html .. .

thanks for fixing that
Borders have always been an issue more than a visual distinction method.
if i insert or remove parts of the original message during replies it breaks
the borders anyways, that would be awesome to have an option to disable borders
& have a light grey background for quote headers.
Confirming as feature request.

super cool, will that soon appear in thunderbird "daily builds" ?
No.
in a future stable release then, i guess ? ((
I hope it won't take forever ((
I don't know, I am not mozilla developer, just bug triager. I can't do more than just mark your bug reports as valid (those that are). Real developers may then look at them.

For that it would need a patch, that patch would need to be reviewed and then committed. If you want we can give you directions on how to get started and you could try to write the patch.
i'm not a program but would welcome instructions if it's not complicated to introduce the light grey background & get rid of internal borders.
Removing myslef on all the bugs I'm cced on. Please NI me if you need something on MailNews Core bugs from me.
