Hey Sean -

We need a few graphic tweaks made to this Stub-Installer mockup (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=675970#c3) before we pass it onto engineering.

Changes:

1. Remove the "Feature 1, Feature 2..." copy from the first window
2. Decrease the size of the Firefox logo and add in some sort of space for a headline. Placeholder headline can be "Welcome to Firefox." This should be text, not graphics for l10n purposes.

Also a general note to leave appropriate spacing for longer l10n strings.

No changes to the second window.

John - please add in anything I'm missing. :)

Timeline: We're hoping to get this to engineering soon, so having this by mid next week would be great.

Sean, let us know if you have any issues getting these changes done. Thanks in advance.
That all sounds correct to me, thanks Laura. I'd recommend waiting until the copy is ready (or at least in solid draft form) before starting on this phase, though.
Sounds good.

Sean: In terms of graphic technical specifications, here's what Robert Strong wrote to me in a email when I asked if they should be bitmaps:

"They should be bitmaps though we do have the ability to use other formats when we are using plugins that create UI. The installer is heavily compressed so using a non-compressed format shouldn't cause the size to increase significantly though the base number of colors will cause it to increase as it would with any format."
Sean: slight addition here; we will have room within the installer "panels" for small icon-like graphics to help bring Matej's fantastic copy to life. It's fine if we re-use existing graphics/icons as you deem fit.

There will be one headline, and a 3 copy panels.

Kind of like the clock icon in this older UI mockup here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=651965#c2

Copy is close to being finalized - at that point we can get started here.
Hey Sean - We're good to get started here. Have the copy at: Bug 683993. There's two versions; graphics should work for both.
Depends on: 683993
This is good to close, right?
LoFo?
Here's the most recent from Sean: http://cl.ly/1X2x2V0a3a062u472U0t/o

Sean - can you confirm that this was your final version? Also, let's make sure we get eng. what they need in terms of formatting in comment 3.

Also note that that last screenshots above contains old copy. New copy can be found in bug 683993.
I believe my final PSD had the proper text. I'll... have to hunt it down.

I'll see if I can slice this up into BMPs this week. If not, I'll host the PSD somewhere and add the link here.
Laura, can you share timing & priority info on this? Sean is on PTO through the end of the year after this week, so let us know if he needs to add the BMPs to his already pretty big to-do list.

Since this is a P2 for eng according to the feature Wiki, it can be a P2 for us too.

Sean - Please provide once you're back from PTO. Early Q1 is fine.

Hey Sean - friendly ping here.
ping. Sean, Status?
So is the remaining action item here to update the existing graphic with the correct text? If that's it, I'd suggest passing this off to someone else. Sean is pretty preoccupied with a few branding projects, but those shouldn't have to block this if the work is really that straightforward.
That's fine. Next actions according to Comment 10: Check to see if his PDFs have the most accurate copy, if so, slice into BMPs as the final deliverable, then close!
Ok thanks. Sean, if you can post the last PSD you have, I can work with someone else to update the copy.

LoFo, where do I find the latest copy?

Friendly ping on this - Sean, can you post the PSD here? Note: now that silent updates are almost here, this project may be revisited so I'd love to have the final assets that we worked on a while ago easily accessible. Thanks!
Heya,

The PSD can be found here: http://people.mozilla.com/~smartell/stub-installer/stub-installer-sandstone.psd

I did a quick update to more of a Sandstone look - bg grain and Open Sans.

Enjoy!
Thanks Sean!
Thanks Sean! I attached a jpg of what I downloaded from your link above to this bug. I see the first step only - are the other steps in the flow somewhere else? (I don't have photo shop so that may be the issue)

Also for reference, here's the complete final version in screenshot form (we just don't have PSDs): http://cl.ly/1X2x2V0a3a062u472U0t/o

If engineering doesn't need PSDs to implement then no need to hunt them down. I'm just looking to send them the complete and final package that they can implement. You probably know better what they need in terms of formatting than I.

that's the old look. I updated it.

The full PSD is in comment 20. Every screen in the flow is in the PSD.
Looks good, thanks Sean. Closing this bug since everything engineering will need to implement is in comment 20.

Here are screens, pulled out of the PDF:

http://cl.ly/image/2N0X1J3z3l1U

(The changes, as I understand them, are that Meta was stripped out and the background adjusted).
Can I get these in bitmap format? I don't have psp and conversion of the psd to Paint.NET is changing the color of the background.

Specifically:
background (I think it is the GRAIN and COLOUR layers)
Intro page - background, Firefox TM (layer WORDMARK), and Firefox logo (layer LOGO)
Options page - unless I'm mistaken, use the dialog background color.
Install page - background and the clock artwork.
Install page - background and the particle collision artwork.
Install page - background and the pencil artwork.

Also, I'd like to keep the clock, particle collision, and pencil artwork images in the same location and aligned with the particle collision artwork since some localizations will need every pixel of space they can get to fit the text.
The images look the same in GIMP so I am just going to use them.
