User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Build ID: 20110922153450

Steps to reproduce:

created a mozillians.org account and filled in all available fields.

Actual results:

Account was successfully created

Expected results:

Would have liked to have listed the irc channels I most frequent under a field rather than appending it to my bio
Thanks for the request! We're also looking into groups and community tags on profiles that might help people find where you might be in this regard (even if its outside of IRC!).

Maybe this could easily be added as a new kind of external account?
I don't think IRC channels are account data, and I'd rather not overload that field. We'd probably want a new field for it.

But I'm not convinced that we should have a structured data field for every possible thing that someone might want on their profile. We could create another field similar to accounts that allowed people to input a string for the name of the thing and a string for its value:

[
{ "IRC Channels Where I Hang Out": "#webprod, #commtools" }
...
]

But maybe just changing the name of the Bio field (say, to "About Me") would make it seem more natural to put this kind of thing there? Now that we support Markdown it's quite easy to make things stand out:

**Find me on IRC:**

* #webprod
* #commtools
After program meeting this is considered out of scope.
