Details

After launching Mozilla 0.8, besides crashing three times, the URL bar was
missing. Changing the theme in the preferences fixed it, but initially there was
no URL bar -- the only way to open a page was to do command L (open web
location). (Other than this I think it is great!)
could you create a new profile and see if that helps?

you see this in latest nightlies (reporter) or if someone else sees this.
Reporter, try looking for this in a nightly with a new profile.
