The developer engagement team does a lot of work around promoting HTML5 and leading the discussions around the latest Web technologies... and we thought it would be great to have our own HTML5 shirt.

Can we find a designer to help us create an awesome t-shirt design that combines the HTML5 and Firefox logos?

I'll be happy to drive the creative process, but wanted to get this on the Creative team's radar and ask for suggestions on who to work with. I have some contacts and potential designers in mind too... so if you want me to find my own, I'm good with that as well.

Thanks.
Hi Jay

Sounds like a fun project. I don't think combining HTML5 and the logo marks would be a great idea here... but we can certainly come up with something interesting. My question though is around timing: if this is something that we can wait or not? Seems to be lower priority for us right now (given everything going on for Q4).

Perhaps this is a good project for Matt T ? Definitely something you can drive if you have the bandwidth. What do you think?
ping?

I have time to work on this. We were hoping to have this ready by end of Q4 or early Q1 for various dev engage needs... so I'll be happy to drive this with Matt T or another designer.

I think a combination of HTML5 and Firefox or Mozilla would make for a powerful design... and by that I don't mean some mashup of the logos, just using both brands in a smart way in a single t-shirt design.

Let me know if I can move forward and I'll be sure to share any initial mockups to make sure the Creative team is ok with the direction we take.
Lets move forward then, and please just use this bug to update on creative direction, mocks, etc. Thanks :)
How about: (firefox) (heart) (HTML5)

Good idea. I'll make sure we explore that with Matt. I have contacted him and we should be able to kick off the design process in early December.
Hey Jay, what is the status here? would be great to have an update before we lose you..!

I chatted with Matt and we're going to have a kick-off call next week to go over the design concepts. I can get the ball rolling, but will need the creative team to see the project through.

Tara: Can you help Janet and the devengage team through the rest of the process once Matt gets started on this?
So we are using Matt for this? OK. Should I join the kick-off call?

Janet: I'll loop you in once Matt emails me next week. This was his last week at his job... as of Monday he's 100% freelancer, so just waiting for him to contact us.
Hey guys, just ping when you need help here. Thanks.
I'm working with Matt now on a number of related design projects. Jeff and Janet are helping sort out details like themes/copy and will see the design through once I'm gone.

I've started a Google doc to keep track of ideas and discussion: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_uhO0iLTEjlhbsVBPenljcaCZMm2L-mx3VbSkRZIkEI/edit

Matt is using that to knock out each design project. We can track progress in this bug.
Thanks for looping me in Jay! Looking forward to see what we can come up with.
Thanks all. Please do post updates to this bug when you have them (sketches, mockups, etc)
