I'm broadening the scope of this bug slightly to cover add-ons that use a lot of memory, even if they're not actually leaking. E.g. bug 720929.

Since bug 695480 land, a great amount of leaks has been FIXED, should we consider categorizing the still non-fixed add-ons leaks into a new bug? I've test nightly yesterday, and found two leaks from add-ons, which should be this kind of leaks.

(In reply to bandinfinite from comment #2) > Since bug 695480 land, a great amount of leaks has been FIXED, should we > consider categorizing the still non-fixed add-ons leaks into a new bug? No. Most of the leaks fixed by bug 695480 are also being tracked by bug 668871. And we're not going to mark any of the leaks that are fixed by bug 695480 as closed until bug 695480 makes it into a Firefox release, which is likely to happen on August 28 (Firefox 15).

It took about a year, but this bug is currently free of dependencies :)

Whoa. Cool!
Did I get it right, that it is okay to file extensions' memory leaks into this bugtracker and YOU (not the extensions' developers) will fix them?

We track them and try to provide assistance, but ultimately it's the extension developer's responsibility to fix leaks.

Mass-closing bugs that relate to legacy versions of add-ons or are otherwise no longer worth tracking. Please comment if you think this bug should be reopened. Sorry for the bugspam. Made you look, though!
