Hey Laura,
We're planning to launch the marketing site for Firefox Flicks on or about Dec 7. We'd like a snippet to tell the world about it. I'll set the design and copy bugs as blockers for this one. I'll add the URL as soon as I have it.

Also, this will be in EN-US, DE, FR, ES and PT-BR (at least)
Depends on: 701734
Sounds good. Please update this with the following once complete and then WebDev can help us bulk import.

Need:
Final Copy
Final URL
Link to the final image png
Also, when should these be taken down?
We would love to have Flicks snippets run throughout the entire campaign. We will need to update the copy based on where we are in the campaign. These first snippets should run into the submission site goes live in hopefully Feb. If this is too long for snippets to run then it would be great if we updated them in mid Jan. Then we will want to switch them out to drive people to come watch the submitted videos.
Is the live date still 12/7 - this Wednesday?

What's the URL to the landing page?

Live date is 12/13. The PR is starting on 12/14. Sorry, I didn't let you know.

Can we run these on different locales? If so some of the copy might not work in all locales specific to "awesome" and "flicks"
What's the link?

Also, please add the final graphic to the library here once it's done:

Also - please tag the links using marketing parameters if you want to track the traffic they send.
Kirstin - do we want Pascal to see if we can localize some of the snippet copy? Matej provided alternates.
Hey Laura,

Should I file an l10n bug to get these snippets localized, or just CC pascal here? Let me know.
Cheers,
C
Hey Laura,

The link is www.mozilla.org/flrefoxflicks

I'm hoping to get the graphic from creative today. I'll upload it to that picasa album as soon as I get it.

Thanks!

Hey there,
I couldn't upload to the Picasa album, but here is the graphic from Sean. Please push the snippet live when you can. Thanks!
Done.

Three comments here:
1. Running one version since other campaigns like the Celebrity Challenge and Foundation EOY take precedent at this time

2. This will end the last week of Dec since Foundation gets 100% airtime at that point. It can continue early 2012.

3. The amount of our GA audience who identifies as "filmakers" is probably slim; I don't think the snippet channel is perfect here since the rule of thumb to run something is "does it apply to 50% or more of this audience" - that said, I don't think we own a perfect channel but I'm sure there are plenty of paid channels that it would be great to announce this on that you may or may not be working with. Cc-ing Jane here to provide guidance.

Excellent point! I think we'll really need the snippet when we've launched the submission/voting site. Thanks for working it in right now.
Another angle we can take/test is to say something like "Know any aspiring creatives/filmmakers? If so be sure to tell them about Firefox Flicks" or something along those lines. We are taking that angle in a few other communication channels.

Should we open a separate bug for the voting/contest site launch at the end of Feb or should we just continue in this bug? Let me know what would work best for you?

The contest runs from Feb 28 to May 1. During that period we want to encourage filmmakers to upload videos and encourage our user-base to watch the uploaded videos and "like" their favorites.

I think it would make sense to start off with the "know any aspiring filmmakers" angle that Kristin and Jane have suggested above and then in late March transition to a snippet about checking out the videos and liking your favorite.

Let me know what you think and we'll get the copy put together and localized.

Thanks!

This sounds good, thanks for the ping. Fine to continue with this bug. A snippet to promote submissions will be great, let's just try to make it apply to the broader audience beyond film makers, as I know you are!

So should the live date be 2/28?
Go live is 2/28, correct. Matej has updated the copy in bug 701734. We're going to go with one of the following depending on feedback from Kristin and Winston. Let me know if you have any favourites. Thanks!

I'd vote 1 or 3 - less specific to film makers. Will their actually be some submissions live for folks to vote on by the 28th?
I like #3. But am concerned that there won't be a lot of videos to vote on by the 28th since the site goes live on the 28th. We do have 3 great promotional videos that are fun, engaging and entertaining that we can drive to. I just want to make sure Flicks is getting promotion and people are aware.

Agree - as discussed via email I think the third option splits the difference nicely, so let's go with that.
Transferring this to Winston, who is taking over snippets from here on out.
