I'll do the work here, but I need to know what the expected configuration is (like, which protocol).

If possible, I'll try to do this while the fw1 upgrades are in progress (bug 705823).
I'm adding needs-treeclosure for the piggybacking mentioned in comment 0.  If this gets missed in this go-round, that's fine.

core1 and core2 should be upgraded from pvst to rapid-pvst:

# spanning-tree mode rapid-pvst


All EX2200 switches should be running rstp and vstp simultaneously:

# set protocols rstp
# set protocols vstp vlan all
