Build ID: 2011091218

Steps to reproduce:

I went to several web stes

Actual results:

I wanted to clear history as a matter of practice.

Expected results:

The Clear History buton should have been enabled, but it was not
Not a security-sensitive bug.

Your bug summary says this is a bug in 2.1, but you reported this bug with 2.0.9; which has the problem (please always report bugs with the version of Camino that exhibits the problem)?

Do you mean the "Clear History…" button in the History preference pane?

Sorry. I replaced my 2.1 version (which has the bug) with the 2.09 version (from my backup) to wait for a bug fix.

I am talking about the Clear History option in the menu bar drop down menu "History". In 2.1, it is dimmed out this unavailable.

I am talking about the Clear History option in the menu bar drop down menu "History". In 2.1, it is dimmed out thus unavailable.
If you have History set to 0 days in prefs, this is expected, as there's no history to clear. (This does, however, leave Recently Closed Pages intact, which we're fixing in bug 706414.)

History is always preserved within the lifetime of an individual browser window, regardless of the setting in prefs, though.

Note that even in this case, the Clear History button in the History preference pane is still available, so it's still possible to clear Recently Closed Pages in 2.1 even when keeping no global history.

Do you have history set to 0 days (in which case we can dupe this to bug 706414), or do you have history set to a non-0 number of days (in which case there's some other bug you're seeing that no-one else has seen)?
Version: 1.9.0 Branch → 1.9.2 Branch
I have always had my prefs set to have 0 days history. In all previous versions of Camino (I'm back to using 2.09 again) the Clear History option was enabled, and worked, when the Folder "Recently Closed pages" was active at the bottom of the History menu in the Menu bar. In 2.1, the Clear history option is dimmed out an therefore disabled even when the Recently Closed Pages is active and contains items.

I'm sorry if this is unclear, but I don't think if I repeat it anymore it will get any clearer. There is a bug in 2.1. I don't consider it a major item, I'm only reporting that I noticed it.
