what about adding a description of the app's source code license to the manifest so that other developers will know whether it's OK to reuse an app's code?

There's nothing in the app interface itself that would lead you to the code itself; even if the code was all Javascript it might be minimized, and you'd have to get the source before you could use it. If there was any special support, it would seem more useful to point to the source code, and you can have a license there.

Would this be a mozapps api bug? If so, migrate this to Core --> DOM/Mozilla Extensions.
