If the user has logged into an identity using BrowserID either in Firefox or any generated native app, a 1-click login in any other generated native-app should be possible. In the case that Firefox is running we could re-use socketserver.js to obtain an assertion; otherwise we will have to implement a fallback.

Mike has also proposed using a system service to provide assertions to apps that need them. This bug is to track the implementation of navigator.id.get in native app shells.

I don't think this is applicable to the mozilla-central version 1 of the apps codebase, but this could be applicable in the future when the "login into browser" feature is implemented (or something similar?). Jen - Could this be a possible feature request or future requirement for web apps in desktop?
