Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0a1) Gecko/20111217 Firefox/11.0a1
Build ID: 20111217031145

Steps to reproduce:

First Step: I have installed Norton Antivirus 2012, which installed Norton Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on in Firefox.

Second Step: I removed Norton Antivirus 2012.

Third Step: I reinstalled Norton Antivirus 2012.

Actual results:

For the first step, the installed Norton Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on can't be removed but only disabled or enabled.

For the second step, Norotn Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on was removed when Norton Antivirus 2012 was removed.

For the third step, Norton Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on remained disabled, can't enabled or removed.

Expected results:

For the first step, the installed Norton Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on should be able to be removed.

For the third step, Norton Vulnerability Protection Firefox Add-on should be able to be enabled or removed.
And what is the bug here ?
You can't remove the addon because it got installed by an external software and Firefox don't know how ti remove it properly.

That it can't be enabled looks like the addon reports itself as incompatible.
Not a bug as per last comment . Closing.
