Looks to me like we're missing part of what we need here...

We have the automation already creating partials from 9.0->9.0.1

We need partials from 8.0 *and* 8.0.1 as well, correct?

Yes and no. I didn't put 8.0.1 there because I think that majority is still on 8.0. Another reason is extra disk space.

I'm not sure we need this patch. If someone is already on 9.0, I don't see any reason to not give them 9.0.1. Can you check with release drivers on what they want to do here?
