I noticed today that the testrun_release.py script adds an extra "build" to the filenames. It happened today when trying to stage the 9.0.1 builds before the signed builds were available. I got filenames like "firefox-9.0.1-buildbuild1.en-US.win32.exe". This was not exclusive to win32 builds either (linux and mac builds were named similarly). Checking back at the directories, I don't see this for 9.0b6 filenames so I am guessing it's a recent change.

I will fix it together with bug 712253.

Setting as WONTFIX as the testrun_release.py script has been replaced with Mozmill CI.
