We currently have mozilla.dev.amo, which we retired a couple years ago and is now full of spam. We'd like to start using newsgroups again, and would like to request that mozilla.dev.marketplace be created for discussion of the development of the new Mozilla Marketplace encompassing apps and add-ons.

This newsgroup should be behind Postini and have as much spam control as possible.

Additionally, mozilla.dev.amo should be either archived or deleted. If there's a way to archive it, that's preferred, but otherwise there aren't many threads in it and I don't want people to see it and think it's still active.

When should I expect this to be created? Would like to discuss some things and not sure how long newsgroup creation takes.

Thanks. I sent a test post last night that made it through mailman and newsgroup, but it's not showing up in Google Groups. Any ideas?

fligtar: you could take this up with mburns directly, or file a new bug on server-ops and it'll get retriaged.

I believe this is part of a known bug 716007, as Google Groups seems to not be syncing a number of mozilla newsgroups. We are trying to get in contact with them to resolve this.

I'll add m.d.marketplace to that tracking bug, and close this off.
