I frequently have multiple tasks scheduled that need to be postponed for a day or week when something else comes up. It would be convenient to have a context menu option to postpone selected tasks similar to the priority and progress menu options.

Comment on attachment 585241 [details] [diff] [review] Fix v1 Review of attachment 585241 [details] [diff] [review]: ----------------------------------------------------------------- I like this idea. I've seen similar things on an android app where you could postpone tasks to the next day. r=philipp It would of course be nice to do this in less clicks, but I think there are no sensible options. Putting all items in the context menus is too much, and even if so, it might cause users to accidentally postpone their tasks.

Comment on attachment 585241 [details] [diff] [review] Fix v1 This looks good. Only one question, when I have a task start date of 1.12.2011 17:00 and end date of today at 17:00 and I postpone for on hour, then the start- and end date are shifting one hour. Shouldn't only the end date shift one hour? For my layman's thinking when I postpone this task I only want to make the task one hour longer and not shifting it. On a future task, shifting is okay but a already running task should be made longer. This comment shouldn't block this cool feature but if it's eligible (I'm no pro in calendar task management) then this could be enhanced in a new bug.

(In reply to Richard Marti [:paenglab] from comment #3) > Only one question, when I have a task start date of 1.12.2011 17:00 and end > date of today at 17:00 and I postpone for on hour, then the start- and end > date are shifting one hour. Shouldn't only the end date shift one hour? For > my layman's thinking when I postpone this task I only want to make the task > one hour longer and not shifting it. On a future task, shifting is okay but > a already running task should be made longer. That was my first thought also, I was originally going to have the command just shift the due date forward a set interval from now, but I thought it made more sense to preserve the duration relationship between original start and due dates, especially when postponing a day or week. It makes less sense to do this when postponing an hour, but I think we should keep the behavior consistent. Including the start date also makes the command useful for tasks with a start date but no due date.

Maybe this would be a good candidate for a toolbar button?

Yes, sounds like a perfect candidate. I'd suggest a new bug though.
