The nsStreamIOChannel has some strange code in its implememtation of OnStopRequest(...) which sometimes returns *before* removing itself from the loadgroup or closing the input stream! This is bad. -- rick

It looks like this patch was incorporated into r 1.52 of nsInputStreamChannel.cpp
