Sorry but why is this a Firefox bug if you have problems with other software that Firefox doesn't touch ?
Sorry, I don't understand your reply. I've had nvidia transparency running successfully on my machine for years. I currently don't have any issues with any other software. It is only when I install FF9 that I get interference with nvidia transparency effects being turned off. To my knowledge nvidia does not install any browser extensions that I can attribute to this incompatibility. Its really quite simple on my end

FF9 installed - nvidia transparency gets turned off
FF9 deinstalled or FF3.6 installed all is ok.
FF9 installed - nvidia transparency gets turned off
FF9 deinstalled or FF3.6 installed everything works fine.

So my issues appear to be repeatable and related to FF9 being installed.
Firefox3.x doesn't have hardware acceleration. It's possible that the nvidia driver has problems if both features are enabled.

Please disable the hwa in tools/options/advanced/general and try it again.
Note: Just installing shouldn't change anything.
Is this still an issue ?
