I noticed today that I can't join more than one cell (the menu item gets
disabled). Why is that?

My workaround is to start in the 2nd from the right, join and then move to the
previous cell(s) and join.

I'd prefer to just be able to repeatedly select the menu item.

Where is my comment from yesterday?!!!
I can't reproduce this. I inserted a 5-column table, put caret in upper-left
cell, and "Join with Cell to Right" is available and works every time.
Maybe it appears disabled because of bug 62158, which was fixed at just about
the same time this bug was reported.
I still can reproduce this with a build from today.
Make sure you don't start in the left-most column of the table.

If I create a table that is 5 x 5 and click in the center cell, I can only join
once. Multiple merges only seem to work for me if I want the span to include the
first cell or if I use my workaround above.
Well why didn't you say so to begin with!
I see the problem now.
