H1 should apply to one element on the page, typically the headline/title of a post. Currently, on The Den, H1 is applied to all of the following: Welcome to The Den - A cozy corner of the Web filled with content just for you. - 6 New Year’s Resolutions to Keep with Firefox Add-Ons - 6 Ways Firefox Makes Tablet Browsing More Awesome - 10 Reasons to Upgrade to the Latest Firefox Version - Shop Online with Firefox and Beat the Crowds - Firefox for Mobile – Type Less, Browse More - Firefox with Twitter Search Built In - Firefox Affiliates – They’re Back! - Protect Yourself from Email Phishing - 6 Ways to Stay Secure with Firefox for Desktop Recommendation: Reset how H1 is used and specify for it to be applied to the blog post headline only.

Done in r101888, already in production The outlining algorithm has been changed in HTML5 so each new sectioning root actually begins a new heading heirarchy. Multiple h1s in a single document is totally kosher now, and even correct. Of course, assistive technologies that render document outlines may not honor the new outlining algorithm, and search engines may not have updated their own algorithms yet to account for the latest standard, so there are good reasons to stick with a "traditional" hierarchy.
