Steps to reproduce:

After install I work with thunderbird for about 2 weeks, it seems that every thing is working right... 
Win7 ultimate 64Bit

Remark: Same version of thunderbird has no problem with win XP prof SV3


Actual results:

One day after starting TB all my mails are not displayed, no way to get them back.      - Testing with sending shows the testmail is send, but can't saved because the structure of the sent / gesendet directory was changed in one mail account
- testing to receive mails was ok 

Deinstalling and cleaning the system - then new install causes the same different structure


Expected results:

Why changed the directories ?
Why is the struture different for each mail account?
Why get deinstalling and new installing the same wrong structure?
Why I lost my mails?
What is a solution for this serious problem?

Are you using pop or imap ?
Well, I used IMAP, to get my mails on two different maschines.
And both are using Thunderbird ? If this still happens we'd need to look at imap logs.

Yes, both are using the same version of Tb and IMAP.
What logs do you need? Where will I found these?
Perhaps I have a backup of this data before I decided to clear the system from any part of thunderbird. I'm not shure but I look for this data, when I got your advice where to search for what.

Imap log can be obtained by following the procedure at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging
I deinstalled Tb after the disfunction. Therefore I can't create the Imap logfile from my system. I may search for a file in my backup of my system but nothing more is possible.
Without logs there's not much we can do.
