Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Build ID: 20120129021758

Steps to reproduce:

On Firefox 10.0, MacOSX 10.6.8:

- go to any web page
- hit CMD-F to pop up the find bar
- begin typing for a word to search for

Actual results:

Firefox will search the page while you type. Obviously, it will usually find a hit at the first key press. Firefox will time out the focus on the text box in the find bar very quickly, on the order of less than a second.

This makes it very hard to search for any terms in a web page that are more than one or two characters long.

Expected results:

Focus should remain on the text box in the find bar until I explicitly focus somewhere else by clicking or leaving the page or so.
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:13.0a1) Gecko/20120214 Firefox/13.0a1 and also on
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1

Focus remains in the test box until I click on the actual page.

The same behavior is present on MacOS X 10.6.8

Also please follow the advice from comment1.
