Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2
Build ID: 20120215223356

Steps to reproduce:

Installed Firefox 10.0.2 on my MacOS Version 10.6.8

Actual results:

Installation worked fine.. and Firefox was fine.. but if I leave Firefox up and the Mac goes to sleep, when I come back, I cannot wake up the Mac.. I have to hard reboot..

No other applications are running.. this started happening immediately after I installed the latest version of Firefox and no other installation changes

Expected results:

Mac should have woken up..
The 10.0.1 to 10.0.2 update contains only a security fix in the PNG image decoder and that can't cause this.
Can you try to disable the hardware acceleration under preferences/advanced/general (+ FF restart) ?

I was upgrading to 10.0.2 not from 10.0.1 but from a much earlier version of Firefox
Don't know which one but it is likely 9.x

As per your suggestion, I disabled the Hardware acceleration under preferences/advanced/general and this seems to have fixed the problem. Still trying it out, but thanks again for this suggestion.
I don't believe that we can do something to fix that.....

Matti, is there still anything to do here?

kvkumar001 writes to me: "I stopped using Firefox on my MAC when I couldn't get the problem to go away. I have since swtiched over to Chrome."

I can not reproduce the issue on my MAC and i don't think that we can anything about this.
It's a system fault if you have to reboot and it doesn't matter if one application misbehaves or not.
