We should add the following community sites to the Mozilla in Latin America map page:

Mozilla Nicaragua:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mozilla-Nicaragu/233895059984279?sk=app_2309869772

Cuba:
https://www.facebook.com/firefoxmania

Mozilla Uruguay:

I'm setting myself as a mentor for this bug and will be happy to help anyone who wants to work on this.
Hi David,

I want to help fixing this bug. How can I get started ?
Great, glad to hear you'd like to work on this bug.

For reference, you can look at a recent change I made that added a new community site to the Mozilla in Asia page:

http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc?view=revision&revision=106084

There are two places where you will need to make edits for this bug:

* /style/localsites.css to add in the positioning for the pins on the map to the CSS

* /contribute/local/latam.html to add in the links and text for the local site

If you'd like to submit a patch to these two files that adds in the information, I'll be happy to check this in to the site for you.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to let me know. You can post questions here in this bug or find me in IRC (I'm davidwboswell there). On IRC, the #www channel is a good place to hang out for discussions about the www.mozilla.org site.
I want to help fix this bug. Where can I get the latest code ?
prakashkut, great, glad you'd like to work on this.

The code for the main www.mozilla.org pages are in Github, but this is a page that's still on the legacy version of the site that is using Subversion. There are instructions for how to use Subversion to get the site's code at

https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mozilla.org/How_to_Work_with_Site#Using_Subversion

Once you have the code, comment #2 above has information about the specific files to edit for this bug.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to comment in this bug or ping me on IRC.
I've created the necessary code to fix this bug but I'm trouble when I try to configure Apache to test it. I get a 500 error. I'm running Debian Linux (sid).
Thank you.

Willian, great.

I'm sorry to hear you're running into errors testing this -- unfortunately getting the site running locally isn't as easy as it should be.

If you can attach your code to this bug as a patch, I'll review it and can check it in to the live site.

There's documentation about submitting patches at

https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Developer_Guide/How_to_Submit_a_Patch
I made some tweaks to these patches -- added an id to the li tags in latinamerica.html and found the X and Y coordinates by opening the map image in photoshop -- and then checked them in.

http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc?view=revision&revision=108192
This is now fixed. Thanks Willian :)

Willian mentioned that he is also interested in making other updates to the map pages, such as adding more logos from local communities. We can handle those in new bugs.

Willian, feel free to open a bug about adding more logos and copy me.

Great, good to have a friendlier URL :)

Checked in at r108246.
BTW, I just came across Mozilla Costa Rica on Facebook. Willian, if you'd like to add this to the map, please feel free to attach a patch.

David Boswell, I've made this change. Please review top and left, I'm not sure if the marker is in the right place ... Thank you very much.
Willian, I just checked in your patches to r108848. I'll check the position on the map when it shows up on the site.
Willian, the pin position was in the right spot. There was a bit of overlap between the pin for Nicaragua so I moved the two just a few pixels away from each other.

Thanks for the patch :)
