User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2
Build ID: 20120215223356

Steps to reproduce:

Right click, Cut, on a Bookmark from Bookmarks menu.

Actual results:

Pasted it to another location on my hard drive, and it doesn't remove it from the original location (the bookmarks menu)

Expected results:

Once Cut, it should be removed from the original location (the bookmarks menu). It is behaving like a Copy command instead.

you are pasting out of the product, so we can't know that. This is not a regression but just a bug about something hard to implement.
The previous behavior was not correct since was deleting even without a paste, the new behavior at least prevents dataloss.

Summary: Cutting Bookmark doesn't Remove it → Cutting Bookmark doesn't Remove it when pasted out of Firefox
Thanks for looking into this. I was previously using version 3.6 for the longest time as I didn't like the fact that never versions didn't actually cut the bookmarks out, but leave them there. So something changed between 3.6 and now :)
It's just that I'm storing the bookmarks in a folder on my hard drive separate from the bookmarks menu, and I have to go and delete them every single time, just wish it would behave like it used to.
yes, I'm saying the fact it was working before was not intentional, and actually caused users to lose their bookmarks by cutting and forgetting to paste, that is a worse issue.
This may be annoying, though it's tricky to fix it properly, since when you exit Firefox and paste elsewhere we are not notified by the system, we don't know what happens to your clipboard at all.
OS: Windows 7 → All
Priority: -- → P5
Hardware: x86_64 → All

We don't know what drop action was executed, which flavor was pasted... pretty much nothing, so to prevent dataloss we won't remove bookmarks.
