Firefox and Instantbird open the Error Console when I press Command+shift+J, so I keep being surprised that it does nothing in Thunderbird. When I asked (during the work-week) if there was a reason for not having this keyboard shortcut in Thunderbird, the answer was more or less that by asking the question I was volunteering to do it, so here's a patch ;). 

The code this patch adds is copied from Firefox.
