The buy flow mocks show buying from a details page. On apps-preview you could buy from any page that had the price button, eg: the home page, my purchases, browse, search results:

On the mocks from martell, I see the price in a few places, for example the browse page:

But can I buy from there, or, anywhere other than the details page?

This has important side effects for the purchase flow and how we show status and updates.

i think we want to have you able to buy from home page and search results for sure.  it shouldn't just be from the details page, some people are going to know they want cut the rope, search for it and want to get it then.

as for the rest, i defer to bryan clark as I have not seen a real user go thru the flow yet, so I can't give any more advice that is based on data. :)

I want to keep purchasing/installing just to the details page and not in every other page.  Assuming page loads are fast you're a short click away from the install button on any other page we could put it.  This gives us some consistency for the purchasing process interactions, as well as any payment iframes float above a details page and not a browse or search page.

There is certainly an argument to be made that this is a slower interaction than having the purchase/install button on other pages but I feel like the consistency of purchasing is more important now.  Later we can look into optimizing the flows for certain types of purchases/installs that would benefit from a quick click.
