We have users.picture_type, and previews.picturetype and .thumbtype at a minimum.  Not sure if there are any others.  Anyway, we should remove all those columns - all we support now is png.
Don't we support video/webm and image/jpeg?
yeah, that sounds valid for previews.  we can still kill the users column and, I suppose, thumbtype
So, the users column is being used as a flag to know whether or not the user has an image at all.  So....that's still a valid use, although it is a little sloppy.  It's not worth leaving the bug open though.
