I was just searching through the results that offer Firefox downloads, thus finding

http://www.free-downloadmozila.com/

It offers a ~900kbyte big "Firefox executable", which (of course) doesn't appear to be an official one. Virustotal.com didn't detect a virus though, but that doesn't mean that it might not be malware.

Virustotal report:

Direct link to the executable:

or http://www.free-downloadmozila.com/download2.php
Summary: free-downloadmozila.com offering faulty Firefox installers → free-downloadmozila.com offering faulty Firefox installers that could probably contain malware

Ok, I ran the executable in a sandbox. No malware is offered, but it's an installer that asks the user one after another to install adware (toolbars and other crap). Of course, no Firefox is being installed from what I could see.
Summary: free-downloadmozila.com offering faulty Firefox installers that could probably contain malware → free-downloadmozila.com offering faulty Firefox installers that contain adware only
Thanks Tobias. We'll try to get this site removed.

New site:

I am uncertain how much info you can give me on legal proceedings, but: What's the current status of this?
It looks like the site doesn't exist anymore!

Marking wfm.
