Details

A user shall not be able to subscribe to a RSS feed using live bookmarks within the web runtime, as live bookmarks are not a feature of the web runtime. However, the current behavior in the web runtime has the firefox functionality enabled to give the user the impression that they can subscribe to a live bookmark within the web runtime. This creates confusion to the user - They think functionality exists for RSS integration into the web runtime that in reality, does not exist. The fix to this issue involves making sure that references to live bookmarks are not shown when using an application in the web runtime. This means if I go to a RSS feed in XML, I should not be given any option to subscribe to news feed with a live bookmark.

Nominating for k9o, as this takes away the user from the intended apps experience within the desktop runtime (it'll confuse them between the desktop firefox experience vs. apps experience and functionality).

This seems like an edge case - loading feeds directly in the runtime is unlikely to occur frequently, but even when it does, it's unlikely that the user will notice the one entry in the dropdown, so the confusion won't be very great. Should be easy to fix, but don't need to block on it.

At the moment the webapp runtime doesn't ask to subscribe to the feed, but shows the XML.

In that case, this is now fixed. Of course showing the XML might not be the optimal behavior, but if it isn't, then we should deal with that in a different bug.
