This bug is to create a table/widget that displays a chronological list of all our outgoing grants, filterable by focus area. 1.) Develop the display table, supporting database, and admin functions (populating and editing the database) according to the requirements here: https://foundation.etherpad.mozilla.org/grantspage-box 2.) Contact Geoffrey (geoffrey@mozillafoundation.org) with instructions on where and how to populate the database with the copy on each of our outgoing grants. 3.) Geoffrey will update the bug once the copy has been entered into the database. 4.) Publish the display table/widget at mozilla.org/grants under the heading "Our Grants" at the bottom of the main content section. (See related bug.)

I think we need to have some form of discussion about the ultimate aims of this, before going ahead with much development. Essentially, what was the reasoning behind the specifications as given? I ask because the mozilla.org site is essentially static; that is to say, it's not database driven, and there's no easy scope for adding in database support. So that part of it is basically not going to happen without some significant changes, and a good argument put forward to the maintainers of mozilla.org! As I understand it, the listed grants aren't going to be changed all that frequently (that is, no more than once every couple of months), so I don't think it'll be a problem having the content a little less flexible. This might just be a case of agreeing to an MVP, playing around a little to see what works, and going from there.

DB-driven functionality is to achieve a few things: 1.) Don't want all the grants taking page real estate. Want a small box that scrolls through them, 5 at a time. 2.) Needs to be able to be updated and edited outside of the larger web dev process. 3.) Initial copywriting is going to be done by a contractor. Makes it easier for them to have a format and widget. If you're able to achieve this in another way, please do.

Geoffrey - do we have the content written yet? Bit of a delay in having our demo merged into bedrock for review but feels like if we have the content ready we can hopefully move a bit faster once the current block has been moved?

The launch of the main page and the widget aren't linked. The main page can be launched whenever it's ready. Once the widget is up on a staging site - or at least an interface to enter the copy - I will engage the copywriter to revise and port the old descriptive copy of each grant across to the widget.

Fantastic - we'll therefore aim to launch the single page Monday morning (UK time), sorry for the hold-up, I was assuming the two bugs had to be completed at the same time :)

Geoffrey: it might be time to get the copy in place now. Due to technical constraints we don't have a DB per-se but we instead have a text-based representation of one, which is currently being discussed and amended (https://github.com/mozilla/bedrock/pull/318#issuecomment-7906619) to be ready to go up on the dev site soon. It's not ideal but it is a good half-way house to the time that Bedrock will have database support. Content changes can be done easily and via a pull request to the text file and these can be deployed (with-in reason) in hours of the pull request being accepted. Hopefully when this is up on dev it should make a lot more sense, Geoffrey please get in touch and I'll talk you through things.

Quick update - we've got a demo version of what the page should look like (with indicative content while we wait for the proper stuff) merged into the dev branch of bedrock and available for review at http://www-dev.allizom.org/b/en-US/grants/?type=#grants-data

Copy has been received and worked into the demo page - awaiting this pull request can be merged (https://github.com/mozilla/bedrock/pull/335) before it can be demo'ed

Small typo: missing 'to'. Second paragraph under 'How to get support'. Each grant made needs a champion inside Mozilla, someone known [to] our community.

Angela/Geoffrey: if you can provide the data I can add it into the data structure and pages.

Sorry guys - please ignore my comment above, I misread Geoff typo as being two things!

OK - so the pull request has been reviewed and merged so we can now see what the final page, grants table and individual grants pages will end up looking like. http://www-dev.allizom.org/b/en-US/grants/ What do people think? Any changes, additions, typo's to sort out before we look to put it live at mozilla.org?

Hi Ross, the support amounts should be like this 10,000 instead of 10'000 and the Ushahidi Chile amount is wrong http://cl.ly/image/2k2M2U3C100z
