Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20120424 Firefox/12.0 PaleMoon/12.0 Build ID: 20120424204149 Steps to reproduce: Open three tabs, close the second tab then close the third tab Actual results: The third tab does not close. Expected results: The third tab should have closed on the first click, it takes a second click to close this tab. Once close creating an extra two tabs and repeating the above it intermittently works as expected with the third tab closing on first click.
Summary: Next tab doesn't close when closing previous tab → Next tab requires double click to close after closing previous tab
Occurs in Firefox stable and all development versions with a clean profile.
Still happening.. can duplicate on my Brother's machine also. Kind of annoying that it's still around. Fresh profile, no addons even with Firefox 20, same thing. C'mon.
Firefox 21. Still happening, I will elaborate further on the nature of this issue. Open multiple tabs and close them in quick succession whilst keeping the mouse positioned on the one spot to allow for the quickest closing of the tabs. Quite often a double click is required to close one of the tabs. Wait for a second and this issue doesn't occur.
Summary: Next tab requires double click to close after closing previous tab → Closing tabs in quick succession often requires a double click to close a tab.

Verified this on FF 18.0.1 - closing a tab makes the X button on the next tab visually respond to a click (turns red) but it doesn't actually do anything until after a small delay. Middle-clicking to close tabs and Ctrl+W to close works rapidly as expected.
