There will be two versions of ESR supported during 12 weeks.
Rename the current selector in Firefox 10 ESR.
There is no perfect answer here. When 17 comes out it will be both the new ESR and the current release version so it won't make sense to label it Firefox 17 ESR. And we really don't want to have something like this:
*Firefox 17
*Firefox 17 ESR
*Firefox 16
*Firefox 10 ESR

I think we can just leave it labeled Firefox 17 until 19 is released. At that time we drop support for Fx 10 and relabel Fx 17 as Firefox ESR. So we'll have:
*Firefox 17
*Firefox 16
*Firefox ESR (actually Fx10)

Note: the 12 week overlap where we have two ESR releases is for enterprise IT teams to test their software with the new ESR. Many will not switch to 17 on the day it's released. This is when they are meant to start their testing and begin their plans for rolling it out.

then:
*Firefox 18
*Firefox 17
*Firefox ESR (actually Fx 10)

later we'll have:
*Firefox 19
*Firefox 18
*Firefox ESR
Also note that we are not optimizing our UI for ESR users.
Presumably some answer was decided on, since the 12-week window of overlap already happened. Did this get resolved? Thanks!
