Yes, this was related to some Netops work that accidentally took SJC1 and MV offline (from what I heard). As for reconnecting to people, it should work now. Ravi found and fixed a bug in the IRC configuration that was throttling connection attempts from people.mozilla.org but should not have.

After searching around once again ... My problem is solved by using SSL connection /connect -ssl irc.mozilla.org 6697 Hope this won't bother future users again ... But why I find no info from the client or the server ...

(In reply to Ashish Vijayaram [:ashish] from comment #5) > Documented in https://wiki.mozilla.org/IRC: > > > /SERVER ADD -ssl -auto -network Mozilla irc.mozilla.org 6697 Yes, I'm sorry to have overlooked ... As a new IRC user, I took for granted that I just need host:port, and wasn't able to figure it out for quite some time ... I think the page is covers several topic and the part about connecting to server is organized into specific clients. Maybe we can provide a single IRC server profile like: Host : irc.mozilla.org Port : 6697 * SSL : Required * Chat Server Port for users of mobile carriers that block IRC (e.g. Verizon) : 8443 (because some client is not listed thus easy to miss out on details)
