Apps in the Games category cannot appear in the Brazil regional store unless we have verified their government rating. This means that: 1. Upon submission, new apps in the Games category are automatically removed from the Brazil store 2. Upon changing categories, apps in the Games category are automatically removed from the Brazil store 3. When selecting country stores, apps in the Games category cannot select the Brazil box, and a link to "Learn why some regions are restricted" is displayed below the countries that goes to https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Apps/Marketplace_Review for now. 4. Staff can override this restriction and check the box (once they've verified the rating).

Do we need to display the rating anywhere on our site?

I asked about that yesterday and am waiting for details.

How does Marketplace know of the rating? Is this something added by the developer or by Marketplace staff?

If we have to display the actual rating image then marketplace will need to know about the concept of a rating and I'll file a separate bug for that. If we only need to display text, we should be able to just add it to the summary for now.

Even if we restrict games for the Brazil country store, won't users be able to change to the Worldwide store and be able to browse all the games they want? Does this matter?

We'll probably want a "this app is restricted for Brazil" on the details page. Since the user could just go to the developers site and get it, the security seems a bit more superficial than anything.

(In reply to Chris Van Wiemeersch [:cvan] from comment #5) > Even if we restrict games for the Brazil country store, won't users be able > to change to the Worldwide store and be able to browse all the games they > want? Does this matter? Yes, that's possible. We're making our best effort and consumers from Brazil will, by default, see the ratings. It turns out we do need to display the image and I'm filing a separate bug for that.

(In reply to Victor Carciu from comment #10) > Games are still available for Brazil store : http://screencast.com/t/HcdJkSLE Existing Games have not been removed. That will be done as a part of bug to implement Content ratings.
