User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20120630030532 Steps to reproduce: Visited Toms Hardware home page. (http://www.tomshardware.com) Actual results: When visiting http://www.tomshardware.com the CPU usage is being eaten by Firefox (constant usage of 3~5% on I7 2600K CPU) + GPU usage is at around 20% on Nvidia GTX 570. Moreover, the memory usage is also skyrocketing instantly by 100~150 MB. I have tried to create a new fresh profile but the problem is still present so its not an add on issue. Also important to note is that when you shift to another tab or simply unfocus firefox (minimizing the browser), the problem goes away instantly (Memory is "back to normal" and the CPU & GPU usage are normal). Expected results: The page shouldn't trigger such a load on the hardware and the memory shouldn't rise that much.

Does disabling the Flash Plugin in the AOM make a Difference?

wfm with Seamonkey trunk on Win7 with Flash 11.3 (Protected mode disabled)
(In reply to XtC4UaLL [:xtc4uall] from comment #2) > Does disabling the Flash Plugin in the AOM make a Difference? Nope. Also, toggling the "Protected Mode" in Flash on/off has no effect on the problem. Even after disabling every single plugin in Firefox, the issue is still there.

Created a fresh profile and took a profile with it. The profile consists of loading http://www.tomshardware.com page and not doing anything while the site is in focus for several seconds. The CPU usage is ~3% (Intel i7-2600K) constantly and the GPU usage is somewhere at ~13% (GeForce GTX 660 Ti). Link to profile: https://perfht.ml/2m4m7II

(In reply to Mikel from comment #10) > ... > Link to profile: https://perfht.ml/2m4m7II Humbug. This now lacks symbols. Can you create a new profile?

Actually, it has some symbols. I don't understand why some are missing. ~70% of time is NtWaitForMultipleObjects
Summary: Constant High CPU & GPU usage and abnormal memory increase on http://www.tomshardware.com → Constant High CPU & GPU usage and abnormal memory increase on http://www.tomshardware.com when in foreground.

Unfortunately I can't seem to trigger the initial issue at its fullest as it was before - there is no high CPU or GPU usage, as it seems like the site's layout has been changed from the last time I took the profile. Saying that, in a performance profile the site does make A LOT of "Recalculate Style" and JavaScript operations (such as "setInterval" and "setTimeout"), which floods the profile even without any interaction of the user. Adding the performance profile and a gecko profile. Gecko profile: https://perfht.ml/2q9NKmR
